WHY Grenada
Grenada, known as the ‘Isle of Spice,’ is one of the most magnificent islands in the West Indies. Unspoilt and exotic, it astounds visitors with its wildly jagged mountain peaks, hidden coves, spice plantations, and lush verdant rainforests. Its beaches are idyllic, with white or golden sand, palm trees, and the delicate aroma of the island’s native spices. In addition to its scenery, Grenada offers culture, fun, and friendliness typical of the authentic Caribbean life – making Grenada the perfect place in which to live, work and play.
The nation of Grenada, measuring 344 km2, is composed of three key islands: Grenada and its sister islands Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Each is beautiful and rich in culture, historic sites, fresh culinary delights, and much more. Carriacou is only a 90-minute boat ride from St. George’s, the nation’s capital city.
Grenada’s proximity to the Equator ensures a year-round tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging between 23 and 28 °C. Its cooling trade winds offer very comfortable conditions.
Large-scale tourism is a recent phenomenon, and Grenada is largely undiscovered, unspoilt and full of opportunity.
Grenada Citizenship by Investment Program
Applicants may only make two types of investments to obtain citizenship or permanent residence:
- They must make “a payment into the National Transformation Fund;” or
- They must make “a payment towards an approved project in Grenada”
Financial conditions of the Grenada Citizenship by Investment program:
1. Payment into the National Transformation Fund
The cost of your contribution will be determined by the number of dependents included in the application—this refers to anyone who relies on you as a primary source of income, including children. Spouses, parents or other family members may also qualify.
- Individual applicant: US$ 150,000
- Main applicant + spouse: US$ 200,000
- Family of four family members: US$ 200,000
- Family over four family members: US$ 200,000 plus 25,000 per additional dependant after the third
The following fees must be paid in addition to the minimum EDF contribution:
APPLICATION FEES
- Per person – US$ 1,500
DUE DILIGENCE FEES*
- Per person – US$ 5,000
- Dependent child aged 17 - 25 – US$ 5,000
- Dependent child 0 – 16: NIL
- *Enhanced due diligence checks and fees may sometimes be required, depending on the applicant’s current citizenship status, and other personal circumstances.
PROCESSING FEES
- Per person aged 17 and over – US$ 1,500
- Persons under 17 – US$ 500
2. Investment in approved real estate project
- You must place a Tourism Accommodation Investment of at least US$ 220,000 or approved real estate investment of at least US$ 350,000.
- Real estate must be held for either three years from the date your citizenship is granted or, if the future purchaser is also a citizenship by investment applicant, five years from the date your citizenship is granted.
Government Fees
If your application for Grenada citizenship by real estate investment is approved, the following government fees also apply:
- US$50,000 for a single applicant
- US$50,000 for main applicant + spouse
- US$50,000 for a family of four family members
- US$50,000 and US$25,000 per additional dependant after the third dependant for a family over four family members
Additional Fees
In addition to the capital required for Grenada real estate investment, the following fees are also applicable:
- Processing fees – US$ 1,500 per person aged 17 and over, US$ 500 for persons under 17
- Due diligence fees – US$ 5,000 per person and dependent child aged 17 and over, NIL for dependent child aged 0 - 16
- In some cases, additional due diligence fees may be required depending on current citizenship status, and other personal circumstances.
